TERRORIST IN THE SUB-SAHARA: African countries have experienced relatively high levels of terrorism, the upward trend of terrorism have indicated an escalation in the insurgency with as many attacks carried out in the various countries that made up the sub-sahara Africa excluding Only seven African countries that are not geopolitically a part of sub-Saharan Africa.
What was initially seemingly a mild attacks in sub-Saharan Africa suddenly change altitude into becoming a movement.

Different countries fighting against a group or more like Nigeria, fighting a religious territorist group Boko Haram, Egypt fighting against The Hasm group, they are also present in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cameroon, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and so many other parts of Africa as a whole. Even now other countries are rendering huge sponsor to these terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda, Boko Haram and likes of them lending arms, financial support, and radical militants to the extremist jihadist movement.

It is obviously evident that terrorist networks sponsored abroad have found a permanent home in sub-Saharan Africa and within the hearts and minds of its people, posing a serious threat for Africans to trade globally in the market, sentencing the continent in a whole “failed states” and making it easier for terrorists to find a penchant corner to easily hide and thrive.
Roles of Religious institution in fostering terrorism in sun Sahara;
Religious institution has played a vital role in heating up terrorism in Africa because of it’s high game of labelling one group as superior and others as inferior based on their monopoly of access and ownership of a supposed supreme universal being. Fostering dreadful killing of those who do not believe in a particular poised religion calling it “Holy war” or Jihad transmuting into terroristic activities today. Some of these set of individuals believed to have a reward from the supreme being they worship of course “enternal damnation” waiting for them unknowingly to them.
Role of African Union in combating terrorism in Sub sahara;
African Union in the bid to take charge over the high increase of terrorism in the part of the continent have met with other African elites home and in diaspora in putting broad measures to combat against the stumbling block waging the development of Africa. Some of these measures includes Legislative and Judicial Measures, security and border control. Interestingly, some of these Countries with huge terrorist impact are countries which initially had little or no terrorist activities from the onset, countries like Burkina Faso, Mali and Mozambique.
Way Forward
A long-term solution for containing terrorism and for neutralizing them along with other insurgency groups in Sub-Saharan Africa is to Diplomatically fight against terrorist activities at an early stage of development and not be ignored as something insignificant. Little act of violence should not be ignored. Untreated or unpunished “little”crime soon escalates into insurgency and can produce massive results of terrorism.
Another way forward from the demeaning state is huge investment in human capital rather than investing in arms and ammunition; Good governance in a nutshell. Lastly but never the list in the options to nation building process is to ensure effective administration of resources, which is one of the major reasons for strife and contention in Africa; a set of individual feeling marginalized from the common wealth in their country. Some in the bid to claim their rights often end up in terrorising the community or state where they find a breeding ground to hatch.
At the root of the problem is the continued failure of the intelligence community to understand the role of the clan, family and sub-clan structure in the integration of the fight against terrorism. Conclusively,Terrorism will end when Africans come to see themselves as one people and develop that sense of what Benedict Anderson calls “imagined communities”.
